The Apostles in Bronze

The Cathedral is entered through massive doors of unadorned bronze in the West Wall, the gift of Mrs. C. Montague Cooke, Jr.  Above then are niches for the bronze figures of the twelve apostles.  There are currently six appostles completed and installed, four of which were created by Mrs. Rosalie Young Persons of Honolulu.  The first two, St. Andrew and St. Peter, were cast in bronze in Italy and placed in position in February of 1965.  St. John and St. James were added in 1970.
