From the Dean
Week of February 22
Dear Cathedral ʻOhana,
With gratitude for your faithfulness and love for this holy place, I write to share an update regarding our Wednesday Noon Eucharist.
After careful and prayerful discernment, we have made the decision not to return the Wednesday Noon Eucharist to our regular weekly schedule. I’m sure you are wondering why — it is not lost on us that a midweek service is a blessing to so many, including the clergy, but because all our clergy serve part-time (including myself!), we are unable to ensure that a priest will be available to celebrate the Eucharist each week. We do not want to make a commitment we cannot sustain long-term and reliably keep.
While the Eucharist will not be scheduled on Wednesdays, the Cathedral will remain open at midday, and printed prayers will be available for all who wish to come and pray. Whether you are seeking a quiet moment in the middle of a busy day, a place to bring your intentions, or simply a sanctuary to rest in God's presence — You Are Always Welcome Here.
We also want to remind you of our Sunday worship schedule, and invite you to join us each week:
**Beginning this Sunday, prayers for healing will be offered after both the 8:00 am and 10:00 am services. During the organ postlude, clergy will be available at the Holy Innocents' Madonna and Child prayer desk for all who wish to receive prayer. We invite you to come and bring whatever is on your heart.
We are grateful for your understanding, and we continue to hold each of you in prayer.
In Christ's peace,
Dean Heather+
